MoniYes Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 06, 2026

MoniYes ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, specifically designed for Business Users (marketplace owners), Vendors, and their Customers.

By using MoniYes, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household ("Personal Information").

1.1. Business User Information

When you register a business account, we collect:

  • Identity Data: Full name, business name, and job title.
  • Contact Data: Email address, phone number, and physical business address.
  • Financial Data: Bank account details (bank name, account number, account name) required for automated settlement of markups and fees.
  • Profile Data: Business logo, business description, and category tags.

1.2. Vendor Information

When a Business User registers a Vendor on the platform, we collect:

  • Identity Data: Vendor's full name and business name.
  • Contact Data: Vendor's email address and phone number.
  • Financial Data: Bank account details and subaccount codes required for the automated split payment mechanism.
  • Product Data: Information about the products provided by the Vendor.

1.3. Customer/Guest Information

When a Customer makes a purchase through a Business User's instance:

  • Transaction Data: Email address (for guests), order history, items purchased, and total amount paid.
  • Payment Metadata: Payment references generated by the Payment Gateway. We do not store full credit card details on our servers; these are handled by our secure payment processor.

1.4. Technical Data

  • Access Logs: IP addresses, browser type, last login timestamps, and activity logs within the Platform.
  • Security Data: OTP (One-Time Password) verification status and hashed credentials.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

2.1. Service Delivery: To provide and maintain the MoniYes platform, including the processing of automated split payments and vendor settlements via Paystack.

2.2. Transaction Management: To calculate and route funds to the correct bank accounts (Vendors, Business Users, and Platform fees) based on the transaction logic.

2.3. Communication: To send account-related notifications, OTPs for secure login or sensitive operations, and updates regarding platform features.

2.4. Security and Fraud Prevention: To monitor for suspicious activity, verify account ownership, and ensure the integrity of financial transactions.

2.5. Technical Support: To diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by users.

3. Data Security and Isolation

MoniYes is built with a "Privacy by Design" approach, utilizing advanced technical measures to protect your data.

3.1. Multitenant Data Isolation: Our platform uses a multitenant architecture. Every record in our database is scoped by a unique business_id. This technical implementation ensures that your business data (vendors, products, orders, and financial records) is logically isolated and completely inaccessible to other Business Users on the platform.

3.2. Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is protected using 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption. Sensitive information, such as passwords, is stored using industry-standard secure hashing algorithms.

3.3. Authentication: Access to administrative functions is protected by secure login credentials and One-Time Password (OTP) verification to prevent unauthorized access.

3.4. Internal Access: Access to your data by MoniYes employees is strictly limited to authorized personnel who require it to perform their job functions (e.g., support or system administration).

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal or business data to third parties. We share information only in the following circumstances:

4.1. Payment Processors: We share necessary transaction and bank account data with Paystack to facilitate automated split payments, subaccount creation, and disbursements. Paystack’s use of your data is governed by their own Privacy Policy.

4.2. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).

4.3. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as a business asset, subject to the same privacy protections.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have the following rights:

5.1. Access and Correction: You can access and update your profile and business information at any time through the Platform dashboard.

5.2. Data Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account. Please note that we may be required to retain certain information for legal, tax, or auditing purposes (e.g., transaction records).

5.3. Marketing Preferences: You can opt-out of receiving non-essential communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions in our emails.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
